Alan Gilbertson is an independent creative director and designer living in Florida. Specialties are book design, visual branding, identity programs and large format (indoor, outdoor and illuminated), across all media.
His first love is book design, which he never gets tired of, closely followed by Creative Suite workflow efficiency, with which he is mildly obsessed.
In addition to helping authors make their books look the best they can be, Alan also supports the Writers of the Future contest, a prestigious global program to help new authors and artists break into the highly competitive field of speculative fiction. You can see the success of this program in the number of authors now publishing professionally in the last year.
Besides this blog, Alan is an Adobe Community Expert, and writes for CreativePro Magazine, and CreativePro.com. He is active on various Adobe forums and a sprinkling of social media sites such as LinkedIn and X (@gngcreative), sharing hard-won experience with other designers about Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge and other apps in the Adobe Creative Suite.
